About Our Studio

Welcome to Our Studio

Queens Community Yoga is a welcoming space for all people, all ages to practice yoga. We are dedicated to enhancing  physical and mental well-being through the practice of yoga. Our studio focuses on fostering a sense of community, connection, and personal growth. With a variety of classes in which all are welome, our experienced instructors use a holistic approach to guide students on a journey towards mind/body harmony. At Queens Community Yoga, we believe in the transformative power of yoga and community to nurture the body, calm the mind, and uplift the spirit.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a gentle practice that focuses on balancing the body, mind, and breath through a series of physical postures (asanas) and breathwork (pranayama). The class begins with a warm-up to center the body and mind, followed by a variety of poses designed to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. Clear instructions on alignment and modifications make the practice accessible for all levels. The class ends with a relaxing cool-down and Savasana, allowing you to absorb the benefits of the session. Ideal for beginners and those of any level looking to reduce stress, improve flexibility, and cultivate mindfulness and overall well-being.

Vinyasa Flow

Join our dynamic Vinyasa Flow classes that synchronize movement with breath, creating a fluid and invigorating practice. Suitable for all levels, these classes offer a more energetic approach to yoga, promoting strength, endurance, and mindfulness.

Foundations of Yoga

This class combines the stability and alignment principles of Hatha yoga with the fluidity of Vinyasa. It moves at a slower pace, allowing time to focus on the foundational aspects of each pose, including proper alignment, breath control, and body awareness. You'll explore key postures in depth, building strength, flexibility, and balance while cultivating a mindful connection to your breath. Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is designed to cultivate deep relaxation and rejuvenation. This gentle practice focuses on using props—such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks—to fully support your body in a series of restorative poses. Yinyasa

A mixed Vinyasa and Yin yoga class blends dynamic flowing movements with longer-held grounding poses. Participants start with an energizing Vinyasa flow, linking breath to movement through a series of sun salutations and standing postures to build heat and strength. This is followed by a transition into Yin yoga, where poses are held for several minutes, allowing for deep stretching and relaxation. Pilates

Core Fusion

As the class progresses, we gradually slow the pace, transitioning into grounding, restorative postures that promote deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Gentle Yoga and Meditation

Foundations of Ashtanga

In this Foundations of Ashtanga class, you’ll be introduced to the key principles of Ashtanga yoga, including its structured sequence, breath synchronization, and drishti (gaze points). The class moves at a steady pace, allowing time to learn and refine the postures, while emphasizing proper alignment and the flow of breath with movement. Focus is placed on building strength, flexibility, and endurance through the traditional Ashtanga series, providing a solid base for those new to the practice or looking to deepen their understanding of this methodical style of yoga.
