Our Mission

Queens Community Yoga offers accessible and grounded yoga practices to the people of Queens, creating space to slow down and connect with oneself and others. Through movement, breath, and shared presence, we support well being of body, mind, and spirit within our studio and throughout the communities we serve.

Vision Statement

We envision a Queens where spaces of care, presence, and connection are part of everyday life. A place where people of all backgrounds feel a sense of belonging, and where the practice of yoga lives not only on the mat, but in how we move through the world with one another. A place where awareness and life itself are not separate, but in continuous relationship.

Philosophy & Core Values

Rooted in the teachings of yoga, we return again and again to awareness, compassion, and connection. As the Yoga Sutras remind us, yoga is the quieting of the fluctuations of the mind. Within that quiet, we begin to listen more closely, to move more gently, and to meet ourselves and others with greater care.

Connection and Community
Yoga invites union. Through shared practice, we create space to come into relationship with ourselves and with one another in a way that feels real and grounded. These connections deepen over time, growing into a sense of belonging that extends beyond the studio and into daily life.

Honoring the Diversity of Queens
In one of the most diverse places in the world, we hold space for the many cultures, languages, and lived experiences that shape our community. Guided by the principle of ahimsa, or non harming, we practice with respect, humility, and care, creating an environment where all feel seen, welcomed, and valued.

Whole Person Well Being
We honor the wholeness of each person. Through movement, breath, and presence, we support the integration of body, mind, and soul. Practice becomes a way to cultivate steadiness, to soften what feels held, and to move through life with greater clarity and ease.

In this way, yoga becomes more than something we do. It becomes a way of being. We practice not only to feel better, but to live with greater awareness, compassion, and connection, carrying these qualities with us into our relationships and into the wider world.
